Moscato Sky - Chair Flow

The Umbrae Noctis Festival is proud to offer workshops with our incredible headliners and feature performers! All workshops will be held at BodyVox, 1201 NW 17th Ave, Portland, OR 97209 Saturday, November 14 1pm-2:30pm Take your chair work to the next level with the them fatale of burlesque, Moscato Sky. This class will begin with a warmup to prepare students to learn innovative ways of utilizing this classic prop, how to maneuver on and off the chair with ease and grace, as well as exciting tricks that will stun any audience.  In this workshop-styled class students will be challenged to create new movement pathways, obscure ways we approach chair work, and walk away with tools to generate chair choreography. This class is designed for students with movement background or previous chair and floor-work experience and therefore may not be appropriate for people with serious knee and back injuries. However, all levels are welcome as this class acts as a lab and encourages exploration. Wear yoga or dance clothes you can move freely in. Knee pads are encouraged but not required.  Objectives for this class: During Chair Flow, students will be given tools to break down and rebuild their approach to movement with a chair, techniques to generate choreography, and exciting tricks to add to their repertoire.
