Moontype (solo), Raul Cotaquispe, Audrey

A night of music marks the end of Moontype and Audrey’s duo tour, featuring a performance by Chicago multi-instrumentalist Raul Cotaquispe.

Audrey is a songwriter and guitarist with an audience previously comprised of bugs and birds. In sharing her songs, she seeks to shed a skin or two, and invites us all to do the same.

Raul Cotaquispe is a Chicago clawhammer banjoist. He was born on the day of a solar eclipse, and a 30-foot sewage geyser at Jefferson and Monroe that lifted a Pontiac Bonneville off the street.

Moontype is Chicago-based songwriter Margaret McCarthy’s dreamworld come to life. Quiet emotions that McCarthy explores with her bass become as large and musically complex as the emotion itself: cathartic, angsty, and unmet.
