THIS IS A FREE EVENT. 40-PERSON CAPACITY Mason grew up in Birmingham, AL, and began playing guitar around nine. He always had a fascination with making up riffs and songs, but never found an outlet for them. Finally, after years of playing in bands, Mason started finding confidence in his songwriting and began playing shows in summer 2023. He makes rock songs that dance around the spectrum of alt rock, shoegaze, post-punk, and power pop. Born and raised on the South Side of Milwaukee, Shontrail creates music shaped by isolation, late-night city life, underground culture, and self-reinvention. Pulling from dream pop, post-punk, shoegaze, alternative hip hop, and experimental indie music, his work blends distorted emotion with atmospheric worldbuilding. Beginning his music journey in 2021, Shontrail approaches each release as more than a collection of songs — treating sound, visuals, live performance, and identity as part of the same evolving universe. Without a traditional musical background, he developed his style through instinct, experimentation, and persistence, building his creative voice from the ground up.
