MAS Presents: Natalia Bernal & Jason Ennis

Chilean-born vocalist and songwriter Natalia Bernal and guitarist Jason Ennis bring together a long-standing musical partnership rooted in jazz, Latin American traditions, and creative exploration. Bernal, originally from Iquique in northern Chile and now based in New York, draws inspiration from the music of her homeland as well as Brazilian, Argentine, Cuban, and other Latin American traditions. Her work blends original compositions with jazz standards and beloved songs from across the Americas, creating performances that are both deeply personal and globally inspired. Ennis is an acclaimed guitarist, arranger, composer, and musical director whose collaborations with Bernal span nearly twenty years. Together they have developed projects including La Voz de Tres and the recent En Diablada project, exploring the intersections of jazz, South American folk traditions, and contemporary songwriting. In the duo setting, their music becomes especially intimate, highlighting the warmth, nuance, and conversational interplay between voice and guitar while celebrating the rich musical traditions that continue to inspire their work.
