For this edition of Club Culture, we welcome MARRØN, the Amsterdam-based DJ whose fast, deeply rhythmic approach to techno is shaped by his Surinamese roots and the legacy of the Marrons who fought for their freedom. Beginning his musical path through Afro Deep, he carried its African rhythmic foundations into a distinct strain of atmospheric, driving techno built for long-form hypnosis. His sets balance speed with groove, using repetition, momentum, and physicality to keep the dancefloor locked in for hours.
Joining him is Alejandro Franco, a Mexico City-based DJ, producer, journalist, radio host, and promoter whose work extends far beyond the booth. As founder of CommonSense Records, publisher at WARP Magazine, and partner at Catharsis Festival, he has played an important role in the growth of Mexico's techno culture while bringing his sound to clubs including Bassiani, BASEMENT, Shelter Amsterdam, and The Garage Barcelona. His sets favor detailed, high-fidelity techno and sustained progression, creating a mental journey that continues well beyond the final record.
