Blending folk, blues, and ragtime with songs that feel as though they've been unearthed from another era, Lotus has built a reputation as one of Canada's most original and captivating performers. His concerts are filled with rich storytelling, heartfelt songwriting, and a fascinating collection of unusual instruments - including banjo, jaw-harp, guitar, and the remarkable contra-bass harmoniphoneum. The roots of his unmistakable sound stretch back to childhood. At just eight years old, after the passing of his beloved 1920s screen icon Margaret DuMont, Lotus found comfort in the music of that era. Tin Pan Alley, ragtime jazz, and Appalachian fiddle tunes became both a refuge and a lifelong inspiration - shaping the vintage character and timeless spirit that continue to define his music today. Having performed everywhere from the Shetland Islands to Turkey, Denmark, and the Netherlands, Lotus has enchanted audiences around the world with performances that are equal parts concert, history lesson, and front-porch gathering. Every song is delivered with warmth, humour, and an unmistakable authenticity that leaves audiences completely absorbed. Critics and fellow musicians alike praise Lotus for writing songs that sound like forgotten classics. Meredith Moon calls witnessing a Lotus Wight performance "equal in marvel to reading a good book you absolutely cannot put down."
