Lark Ascending – A Remembrance Day Concert Wednesday, November 11, 2026 | 11:45 AMSt. Mark’s Anglican Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake Following the Remembrance Day ceremony in town ADMISSION BY DONATION TO THE LAST POST FUND • COMPLIMENTARY SOUP • RESERVE YOUR SPACE TODAY OR JOIN US AT THE DOOR Music Niagara invites the community to continue a cherished annual tradition with Lark Ascending, our Remembrance Day concert honouring those who served and sacrificed. Following the community Remembrance Day ceremony, guests are invited to make their way to St. Mark’s Anglican Church, where complimentary soup will be served in Addison Hall upon arrival before the 11:45 AM performance. Admission is by donation to the Last Post Fund. This traditional Remembrance Day program brings together beautiful classical music, reflection and personal stories in a moving tribute to generations of Canadians who served. The program will also include a special reading of wartime memoirs by Music Niagara’s own Loris Isabettini, adding a personal voice of remembrance to the morning. Featured Artists Victoria Kogan, piano Internationally acclaimed pianist Victoria Kogan has been praised as “an admirably gifted performer” by Yuri Temirkanov and a “true artist” by Yefim Bronfman. A prizewinner at numerous international competitions, including the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition, Valsesia Musica International Competition, Stravinsky Piano Competition, Andorra Piano Competition, Minneapolis E-Piano Competition and Gyeongnam International Music Competition, she has performed on major stages around the world. Her international appearances have included the Concertgebouw, Cologne Philharmonic, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Salle Pleyel in Paris and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, with performances throughout Europe, North America and Asia. Joining Victoria are two exceptional young violinists from The Royal Conservatory of Music. Sophia Chen, violin Sophia Chen is a First Prize winner at the Canadian Music Competition and one of Canada’s promising young violinists, recognized for her expressive artistry and commanding stage presence. Sophia studies violin with Professor Atis Bankas at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at The Royal Conservatory of Music. Sora Sato-Mound, violin Sora Sato-Mound studies violin with Professor Atis Bankas at the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at The Royal Conservatory of Music on a full scholarship. He won First Prize at the 21st International G. Ph. Telemann Violin Competition in Poland and First Place in the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition, subsequently making his solo debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in October 2024. Sora has also been recognized in numerous competitions in Canada and internationally and has appeared as a soloist with ensembles including the North York Concert Orchestra, Oakville Chamber Orchestra, Glenn Gould School Chamber Orchestra and Canadian Sinfonietta. In addition to performing, Sora is an accomplished young composer and visual artist. His arrangement of Myroslav Skoryk’s Hutsul Triptych for Symphony Orchestra for three violins was premiered in Niagara-on-the-Lake in 2023.
