Special presentation of music constructed exclusively for strings– drawing material from Philip Glass’ String Quartet No. 5 alongside the writings of Amy Wurtz and Amos Gillespie.

Named after a previously endangered grass that has recently revitalized the shores of Lake Michigan, Lakeshore Rush is committed to highlighting environmental stewardship in its programming and championing underperformed compositions in live performance.

Their debut album Lakeshore Rush: Moving Parts for Albany Records explores archival recordings and soundscapes from Chicago composers. The ensemble was also featured in Seth Boustead's imaginative Dreaming Grand Avenue (2020), and Lawrence Axelrod’s 5X4: Quartets for Various Instruments– with Gramophone describing their work as “exquisitely rendered.”
