Kat Ellis Trio

Katharine (Kat) Guiles Ellis is a CCJA trained vocalist. She is a featured vocalist with the Denver Jazz Orchestra and performs regularly with her own ensemble. Her gift of expression and storytelling using her authentic and emotive voice lets her cover tunes ranging from reflective to torchy, witty to sorrowful. Her 2025 release “Talking to Myself” showcases her emerging voice: “Pitch, diction, and phrasing are all meticulously polished, making for a presentation that is both professional and assured.” (Paris-Move, 9/25) Milo Lewon is a pianist and composer based in Denver, CO. While his sound is grounded in jazz and folk styles, he is always finding structural conventions to challenge and new stories to tell. Milo is currently pursuing a Masters in Jazz Composition and Pedagogy at CU Boulder, as he continues to develop his voice as a passionate music educator. Eddie Ness is a versatile and dynamic bassist currently residing in the Denver area. He performs locally with several different bands and is in high demand as studio musician. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Eddie is passionate about teaching young bass players and uses his experience to guide new players in developing a strong technique and understanding of music theory. He has performed with many fantastic musicians in such as Brad Goode, Victor Mestas, John Gunther, Paa Kow, Eric Gunnison, Robert Johnson, Charles Blenzig, and many others.
