February 5, 6, and 7 2027The West End Cultural CentreDoors at 7:00Music at 8:00 Real Love Winnipeg presents: A Tiny Lengthening of Light: Songs & Stories by John K. Samson, Christine Fellows, and Miriam Toews, and featuring Jennifer Thiessen + Leanne Zacharias! As the light starts to creep back in, the days get incrementally longer, and the cold still bites, we thought early February would be a good time to share ideas and songs and stories that remind us all why we live here, why we make things, why we listen, why we sing.John K. Samson will be presenting his solo performance/lecture, Folding a Paper Cup, which incorporates his distinctive talk-singing with actual talking. He'll be playing new songs, old songs, and sharing stories that intersect with those songs. Then the quartet of Christine Fellows (songs), Miriam Toews (words), @violajen (viola), and @musicforspaces (cello) will weave Miriam's writing with Christine's songs to make an hour of laughing and crying for the whole messed up family. That includes you.Join us in February for a tiny lengthening of light.
