these three distinct musical forces will take over longboat hall, performing from a stage in the middle of the room, as the dancefloor orbits around them across two floors and a wraparound balcony.

where to even start with Joe Claussell?

for more than 30 years, he has been a defining force in NYC’s dance music culture. from Body & Soul with François K and Danny Krivit to his label Sacred Rhythm Music, he’s spent a lifetime pushing house music beyond its boundaries — bringing together afro-latin rhythms, jazz, world music, disco, and soul into a sound that feels unmistakably Joe.

but none of that quite prepares you for him in the booth. his sets are deep, soulful, spiritual, and unpredictable journeys. the kind that genuinely leave you thinking ‘what did I just witness?’

having Joe play for 3+ hours in an intimate setting like this feels monumental for our city.

a Toronto-based spiritual jazz ensemble presenting their debut album, The Big Band Theory, live for the first time. expanded from their usual 5-piece into a 12-piece band of musicians & vocalists, they’ve built this performance specifically for cosmic sun day, and it will not be repeated.

taking cues from Mingus’ controlled chaos and Sun Ra’s cosmic mythology, the album is deep, expansive, and highly danceable.
