Wayne Shorter stands among the most influential saxophonists and composers in jazz history. From his groundbreaking work with Art Blakey and Miles Davis to his pioneering role in Weather Report, Shorter continually pushed jazz into new territory. His compositions, including Footprints, Speak No Evil, and Nefertiti, have become essential works in the jazz repertoire, inspiring generations of musicians with their distinctive melodies, harmonies, and spirit of innovation. Jacob Eary is a drummer/composer/bandleader/educator based in Phoenix, AZ. Leader of the art collective Scumbag Airlines and drum set instructor at Arizona State University, Jacob works to curate music, performance and visual art using collaborative methods with talent from the Phoenix community and beyond. He has performed in the Phoenix music scene for over 15 years in the valleys most popular and prestigious venues, as well as throughout the Southwest and South America.
