Esteban Herrera Quartet

Polaris presents: Esteban Herrera Quartet Album Preview! October 17, 2026 – 7:30pm Esteban Herrera’s Latin Jazz Project brings together four musicians from Calgary’s music scene: Esteban Herrera on piano, Jeff Gammon on bass, Luis Tovar and Raúl Tabera on percussion. The quartet performs original music composed by Herrera and collectively developed through the group’s arrangements and interpretation. The project explores rhythms, sounds, and influences from a variety of Latin American musical traditions, blending them with the language of contemporary jazz to create music in which rhythm, interaction, and improvisation play a central role. The group is currently producing Voz Morena, a new album scheduled for release in November 2026, with the support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA). This performance at The Polaris Theatre on Saturday October 17th 2026 at 7:30pm in Calgary offers a preview of this new work: contemporary Latin American music driven by rhythm, improvisation, and the distinctive musical voices of its four members.
