The next edition of No Facade brings a true Detroit underground veteran behind the decks.
Dan Bain has been digging, collecting, DJing and building Detroit’s underground music community for more than two decades. Inspired by the Detroit techno parties of the late ’90s, Dan began DJing in 1999 and quickly developed a style that refuses to stay inside one genre. His contribution to Detroit’s underground goes well beyond the DJ booth. In the early 2000s, he helped establish Flynote Productions, playing a key role in bringing emerging and established artists to Detroit, including DJ Three, Chloe Harris, Habersham and Avex Axiom. His involvement with the Detroit Electronic Music Festival eventually led to a long-running relationship with Paxahau and the Movement Electronic Music Festival, where he continued contributing both as a DJ and as part of the team behind one of Detroit’s most important electronic music institutions.

For us, inviting Dan to No Facade is a natural meeting of generations and perspectives within Detroit’s underground. Our paths have crossed through the city’s music community over the years, and this night brings that connection into the Temple Bar. This event is about stripping away expectations and creating space for DJs to explore. No genre box. No predetermined destination. Just good music, good people and a dance floor.
