About the concert
CFCF, Doss and Lil Duende play at Cine El Rey in McAllen on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 8:00 AM. Tickets cost between $20 and $25.
CFCF is the moniker of Mike Silver, an indie electronic producer from Montreal whose work frequently touches on themes of nostalgia while sounding fresh and contemporary. A self-taught musician, Silver’s style has evolved and matured throughout the years, from the Balearic disco of debut full-length Continent (2009) to ambient/new age explorations like 2015’s The Colours of Life. He is co-credited with developing the concept of “night bus,” an Internet-spawned movement that encompasses feelings rather than specific genres of music. CFCF was nominated for Best Remixed Recording at the 2015 Grammy Awards, for his remix of Max Richter’s “Berlin by Overnight.” His subsequent work has explored his formative influences, with 2019’s Liquid Colours re-creating the commercial side of atmospheric drum’n’bass, 2021’s Memoryland evoking several styles of electronica and alternative rock, and 2026’s L.U.V. embracing electroclash and ‘00s indie dance.

Over the past ten years, the mononym “Doss” has come to represent something increasingly rare in the world of dance music: not just a sound, but an ethos, a tension—a collage of disparate moods coalescing around a single idea. From her 2014 self-titled debut to her 2026 EP with Danny L Harle, Crystallise Divergence, the cult-favorite producer, vocalist, and DJ has worked with everything from manic drum patterns and vocal contortions to blustery ambient and shoegaze. At once far-reaching and conceptually unified, Doss’ artistic practice is best captured by her gnomic slogan: “It’s the music.” Don’t worry too much about trying to box it in. An underground fixture, Doss has always had major fans in big-name artists. SOPHIE, in particular, was a frequent collaborator. Doss has spent the past few years remixing tracks for artists like Uffie, Lady Gaga, Caroline Polachek, AG Cook, and Eartheater, as well as putting out her own exclusive DJ mixes via Apple Music, NTS, and TripleJ.
