Blake Morgan & The Essentials

Blake Morgan & The Essentials celebrate the life of Robin Morgan on December 10th with a night of poetry, politics, and Rock ’N Roll. “I want to celebrate what we all loved and continue to love most about Robin,” says Blake Morgan. “Her ferocious poetry, her righteous demands for justice, her love of New York City.”    Special guests will read selected poems by Robin Morgan in between performances by Blake Morgan and his band, The Essentials, for a unique celebration at Robin Morgan’s favorite music venue, The Bitter End, in her beloved Greenwich Village.   From sold out concert halls to the halls of Congress, Blake Morgan has emerged as one of Indie-Rock’s shrewdest polymaths. Balancing studio chops with what All Music Guide calls, “a gift for pairing biting post-punk with AM pop,” Morgan has built a loyal critical and commercial following, while running his uniquely artist-centric New York City-based record label, ECR Music Group.
