Barn Dance

The Five Points Rounders is an old-time string band that has been playing for square dances in the greater Durham area for the past 20 years. As creators of the much-loved Rowdy Square Dance, the Rounders strive to breathe new life into traditional southern square dancing. With their passion for the music and a commitment to building community, the Rounders have sought to create inclusivity in previously gendered spaces. Much of the calling is gender-free. All dances are taught beforehand, but chaos and a general disregard for instruction are always welcome. They believe firmly that, “If you ain’t doin’ it wrong, you ain’t doin’ it right”. So, come as you are; bring your dance shoes and your smile. You’ll be glad you did.
