Singer-songwriter Anne Heaton captures audience imaginations with her songs that are "absolutely gorgeous" ( New York Times Music Podcast ) and “tender, barbed and spiritual” (Washington Post). Anne has been featured by NPR, the Sundance Film Festival and Lilith Fair (2010). She has shared the stage with artists like Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, and jazz drummer Max Roach. Anne teaches songwriting at Berklee College of Music and recently researched the social emotional learning outcomes of songwriting with teenagers which became the foundation of her  2025 TEDx talk   Why Teaching Teens Songwriting Can Make the World a Better Place.  Anne is originally from Chicago and now lives here in Milwaukee. She loves drinking good coffee, walking along Lake Michigan, and being a mom to two freethinking daughters. Anne is so happy to be returning to play at Anodyne!
