Click link for CBS story🤍 https://www.facebook.com/reel/1569292311419295 Born in the pandemic, A Song for You Foundation is a unique, grassroots arts not-for-profit that provides healing and comfort to patients (and their loved ones) in hospice & hospital. Through personalized recorded songs, we honor the legacies patients leave behind while bringing the power of music to those in need whether in hospice, hospital, or home. Songs are also written for First responders & the health care workers who look after them. In the pandemic, over a time span of 18 months, our Artists wrote, recorded, and shared over 175 songs--some covers, some originals, but most of which were personalized recorded songs, written from scratch, based on the stories of individual patients as told by their families to their Social Workers and then to us. Songs were also written to honor First Responders as a way to say thank you. In the early days, we wrote for a staff of 150 healthcare workers in a hospice in NYC & in a few years time, that grew to writing  a song written for a healthcare system of 15,000 Nurses in Idaho at Christmas. Following a generous response from the community at large, including the music, healthcare, & journalist communities alike, A Song For You Foundation is now its own 501c3 charity in NYC, writing for patients & families across the country. Our story has been covered by outlets from ABC to NBC, NY1 to NPR, Chicago Tribune, UpWorthy, CBS Mornings, and PEOPLE Magazine. Our work has attracted Grammy award-winning Artists & nominees, along with local, touring, and internationally awarded Artists to our simple mission of celebrating a person's life & legacy in song. Currently, over 70 Artists have shared or leant a song to this project. This year as we go forward with our mission of keeping songs free to families, we look to grow our Artist Network, build our Executive Board, and spread our mission even further to deepen our impact.  As an organization led by one Founder & a handful of dedicated Volunteers, we look to 2027 to bring on our first staff member.
