8 Ball Community x City Kids present 'Signals'

Join us for Signals - A City Kids x 8-Ball Situation.

On Saturday, August 29th we have a full day (and into the night) slew of multidisciplinary programming by artists who are not only NYC based, but NYC raised. So many artists make New York City their home, but this is an opportunity to celebrate homegrown talent, people who have been shaped since childhood by the city we all love.

During the day, we have five live music acts and two documentary screenings, along with work from eight visual artists and five local orgs tabling. After 10PM, we move into a dance party featuring five of NYC’s best DJs.

We asked artists to contemplate the concept of signals - How can different signals lead people down different paths to a common destination? When are they vulnerable to misinterpretation? How do we signal as New Yorkers that we are from here, how do people who move here signal they belong? We don’t have the answers, but we hope this event will help you dig for them together.

Tickets are $15 before 10PM, $20 after; no one turned away for lack of funds.
