Ye is the performance name of American rapper and producer Kanye West, born in Atlanta and raised in Chicago. Soul-sample beats for Roc-A-Fella led to solo work that stretched hip-hop with gospel, electronic, and industrial edges. The College Dropout (2004) began a run of US No. 1 albums including My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010); he has 24 Grammy Awards. Arena shows are known for immersive staging, choir segments, and deep catalog medleys.
