Wegz is the stage name of Egyptian rapper Ahmed Ali Shahat from Alexandria, widely credited with bringing Egyptian trap and Arabic hip hop into the mainstream. His sound blends Western trap with mahraganat, shaabi folk, R&B, and Afrobeats. The 2020 single "Dorak Gai" marked a breakout moment, and he released his debut album "Aqareb" in 2025. His live shows extend that trap-led energy to international audiences.
