Tower of Power
r&b
Tower of Power is a soul and funk band formed in Oakland, California, in 1968 by saxophonists Emilio Castillo and Stephen "Doc" Kupka. Its trademark is a punchy horn section that has also backed Eric Clapton, Elton John and Santana on record. The 1970 debut "East Bay Grease" set the template, and hits followed with "You're Still a Young Man", "So Very Hard to Go" and "What Is Hip?".
