The S.O.S. Band

The S.O.S. Band is an Atlanta R&B and electro-funk group formed in 1977. Working with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, they blended post-disco boogie with the TR-808-driven sound of 1980s club funk. Their 1980 single "Take Your Time (Do It Right)" topped the R&B chart, and the 1983 album "On the Rise" produced hits including "Just Be Good to Me" and "Tell Me If You Still Care." Live, they are known for electrifying performances built on those era-defining grooves.
