The Seldom Scene
country
The Seldom Scene is a Bethesda, Maryland progressive bluegrass band formed in 1971 and among the genre's most celebrated acts. Their sound mixes traditional songs with fiery reinterpretations of pop and country outside straight-ahead bluegrass. Since Act I in 1972, they have released nearly two dozen albums, including Remains to Be Scene in 2025 on Smithsonian Folkways. Shows draw on Birchmere residency history mixing originals and deep cuts.
