The Mavericks
country
The Mavericks are a country band formed in Miami in 1989 and led for three decades by singer Raul Malo. Their music blends country and rock and roll with Cuban rhythms, Tex-Mex twang and Malo's baritone croon. They won a Grammy in 1996 and recorded the Spanish language album "En Español" (2020). Malo died in 2025, and the surviving members chose to continue the band.
