The Band of Heathens

The Band of Heathens are an Americana band formed in Austin, Texas in 2005 by songwriters Ed Jurdi, Gordy Quist and Colin Brooks, who played a weekly residency together. Their music mixes roots rock, country, blues and blue-eyed soul. The self-titled debut (2008) and "One Foot in the Ether" (2009) both topped the Americana chart, and the band's name came from a local paper's misprint billing them as "The Heathens".
