Tamio Shiraishi
Tamio Shiraishi is a Japanese-born, New York-based alto saxophonist and vocalist active in noise and free improvisation since the 1970s. A founding member of Keiji Haino's Fushitsusha, he also played with Taco, A-Musik, and the No Neck Blues Band. He plays almost exclusively in the sharp upper register of the alto saxophone. Since moving to New York in 1990, he has become known for solo performances in subway stations.
