folk

Sam Amidon is an American folk singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Brattleboro, Vermont. He reworks traditional ballads and folk tunes with textured arrangements drawing on free jazz and experimental music. Albums such as "All Is Well" (2008), "I See the Sign" (2010) and "Salt River" (2025) span Nonesuch and Bedroom Community releases. His freewheeling live sets feature fiddle, banjo and guitar in adventurous reinterpretations of old songs.
