Sababa 5 are an instrumental band formed in Tel Aviv and later based in Paris, playing Middle Eastern psychedelia and Mediterranean funk. Their sound is built on swirling organs, surf guitars and vintage analogue tones drawn from Turkish, Persian and East African melodies. The albums "Sababa 5" and "Aspan" came out on Batov Records, and the single "Tokyo Midnight" with singer Yurika brought wider attention.
