Patti Smith

Patti Smith is an American singer, songwriter, poet, and author who helped shape New York punk and art rock from the 1970s. Her music pairs raw, incantatory vocals with guitar-driven rock and lyrics about freedom, love, and mortality. Her debut album "Horses" (1975) and the hit "Because the Night" cemented her as a voice of downtown New York. Live, her Songs and Stories sets weave readings, memoir, and classic songs into intimate, improvisational evenings.
