Orchestra Gold is an Oakland ensemble led by Malian singer Mariam Diakité and guitarist Erich Huffaker. Their African psychedelic rock fuses Malian Bambara soul, horn-driven grooves, and analog psych-rock drawn from 1970s Bamako tradition. The 2023 album Medicine extended a collaboration that began when they met in Mali in 2006. Live shows are sweaty, spiritual portals built on hypnotic rhythms and cosmic guitar.
