popsinger-songwriter

Morrissey is an English singer-songwriter from Manchester, born Steven Patrick Morrissey in 1959. His baritone indie rock pairs witty, melancholic lyrics about longing and isolation with jangle-pop arrangements. He fronted the Smiths (1982-1987) before solo albums including "Viva Hate" (1988) and "Vauxhall and I" (1994). Live, he is known for dramatic stage presence and devoted cult audiences.
