Montez De Durango
worldlatin
Montez de Durango is a duranguense band from Aurora, Illinois, founded in 1996 by Durango-born, Chicago-raised José Luis Terrazas. Its fast polka-ranchera sound made it the band most closely identified with the pasito duranguense dance craze. "De Durango a Chicago" (2003) debuted at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart, and "Borrón y Cuenta Nueva" (2006) won a Billboard award for album of the year.
