Matthew Ryals

Matthew Ryals is a modular synthesist from New York City who performs improvised solo sets. His playing moves through microsounds, texture, noise, acoustic-like timbres and environmental sounds across a wide dynamic range. In concert all sounds are generated live on the synthesizer, with no prepared samples, sequences or playback recordings.
