Houston Symphony in Houston

The Houston Symphony is Houston's principal orchestra, launched with a June 1913 concert sponsored by Ima Hogg. It performs at Jesse H. Jones Hall and is among the Southwest's oldest symphonic institutions. Juraj Valčuha became music director in 2022 after predecessors including Leopold Stokowski and Andrés Orozco-Estrada. Seasons mix core repertoire, pops concerts, and education programs.
