El Michels Affair

El Michels Affair is a Brooklyn instrumental group led by producer Leon Michels. Michels blends funk, soul, hip hop, and jazz in an analog, cinematic style with R&B and rock influences. He formed the project in 2000, debuting with "Sounding Out the City" (2005) and the Wu-Tang tribute "Enter the 37th Chamber" (2009). Live sets move from soul grooves to hip hop reinterpretations.
