Drive-By Truckers are an American rock band from Athens, Georgia, built around songwriters Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. Their music mixes Southern rock, country, blues, and punk with lyrics about the South, class, and hard lives. "Southern Rock Opera" (2001) and "Decoration Day" (2003) cemented their reputation. Constant touring has made their three-guitar live shows a fixture for dedicated rock fans.
