Atreyu is a metalcore band formed in Yorba Linda, California, in 1998. Their sound pairs screamed and clean vocals with melodic, hard rock leaning riffs. The debut "Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses" arrived in 2002, and "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" (2007) peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200. Founding screamer Alex Varkatzas left in 2020, and drummer Brandon Saller moved to the front as lead vocalist.
