Aloe Blacc is an American singer and songwriter from Laguna Hills, California, raised by Panamanian parents. He blends R&B, soul, hip-hop, and pop in socially minded songs beyond ego-driven rap. Hits include "I Need a Dollar" and "The Man", plus vocals on Avicii's "Wake Me Up" (2013); albums include Good Things (2010), Lift Your Spirit (2013). Live, his Grand Scheme band pairs soul horns with crowd singalong hooks.
